Associate Dentist – Newcastle upon Tyne (Independent Mixed Practice)
ZEST Dental Recruitment is working in partnership with a long‑established independent practice in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, to recruit an Associate Dentist.
The role
- Independent mixed NHS / private dental practice
- Part-time, three to four days per week (flexible on days)
- Up to £15 per UDA, flexible UDA allocation
- NHS list with strong and growing scope for private dentistry
- Mixed role: solid NHS base plus increasing Practice Plan and fee-per-item private

The practice
- Five‑surgery, well‑equipped practice with onsite parking
- Well established practice on the same site for over 70 years
- Principal has been at the practice for 31 years and owner for 20 years, with many long‑standing patients and their families
- Practice Plan in place with all new patients now taken on privately, then moved onto a maintenance plan
- Onsite hygienist and therapist helping to deliver preventive care and support UDA delivery
- Established training practice for around 16+ years, opportunity to become educational supervisor
- Supportive, hands‑on principal with a strong continuity‑of‑care and ethical approach to NHS provision

You will be taking over from a departing associate (relocating), inheriting an established NHS list within a practice that values both stability and growth. - Fee‑per‑item private treatments, including clear aligners and composite/bonding work

The principal is keen to support an associate who wants to grow their private practice and is also open to someone who would like to get involved in education and mentoring, including progression towards a trainer/educational supervisor role in the future.
This position is ideal for a dentist with some post‑foundation/DCT experience who is:
- Confident managing a busy list without needing close day‑to‑day mentoring
- Comfortable working within a mixed NHS/private model but keen to develop private
- Looking for a stable, long‑term home in an independent, training‑focused practice with a loyal patient base and supportive team culture
Requirements
- Full GDC registration
- Active NHS Performer Number
- Experience providing NHS and private dental treatment in the UK
